HBCU COLLEGE TOUR DAY

Chattanooga Business Elite is delighted that you have expressed an interest in participating in the upcoming HBCU college tour. The annual tour provides an opportunity for high school students to be exposed to Historically Black Colleges & Universities throughout the country with the hopes of piquing their interest for future enrollment. 
 
This tour is for Miles College and Alabama A&M. We will be accepting 20 girls and 20 boys for this trip. 

The HBCU College Tour process consists of 3 steps which include the following:
1) Completed application submission
2) Tour acceptance/ denial
3) Mandatory waiver and permission slip signed.

 
Please note that CBE reserves the right to reject any applicant that does not meet the tour requirements. Tour requirements include the following: 
 
  • Must be a Junior or Senior

  • Minimum GPA of 2.5

  • Overall great conduct

  • Current a student in Chattanooga


The application deadline is 09/29/2023.

CBE HBCU College Day Tour provides African-American students with the unique opportunity to visit multiple college campuses in a single trip. With more than 100 historically black colleges and universities in the United States, these multi-campus college tours give students a solid understanding of the history, culture, and traditions that have shaped the schools’ collective legacy, and a framework for comparison that will help them choose the right HBCU.

This All-inclusive tour is FREE to students all funds include:

      • Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How are students supervised?
  • Students are closely supervised. Our staff includes CBE leadership, tour facilitators, and chaperones. Students are closely monitored from the time they board the buses by chaperones at a ratio of 4-to-1. Students are accounted for, are required to participate in all activities, and must stay with the tour group at all times. Chaperones take attendance several times a day at every event site.

What should I expect on my trip?
  • CBE wants the students to have an opportunity to engage in hands-on, interactive activities that focus on academic, leadership, personal, and college readiness development. Meeting face-to-face with admissions counselors. Gaining exposure to college life. As well as giving back to the community by volunteering. Through our creative formats, students leave with a plethora of new skills and knowledge to help them build toward a successful future. 

What does the sponsorship fee cover?
  • This trip is Free for all Students. The fee covers transportation, lodging, breakfast, lunch, dinner, admission into attractions, and a t-shirt. Students will need additional money for souvenirs and other incidentals. 

Are there a limited number of spaces?

  • Generally, yes there are a limited number of spaces available for each event, based upon the mode(s) of transportation that have been selected. Registrations are processed on a first-come, first-served basis.

Where can I get a sample schedule?

  • Participants will be provided a full detailed itinerary 10 days prior to departure.
